An unforgettable beach trek adventure on one of Northern Irelands beautiful beaches Perfect for riders aged 12 and up, our 2.5-hour Beach Experience is designed for mixed ability riders and offers a unique opportunity to enjoy horseback riding along Ireland’s beautiful coastline. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, you’ll experience the thrill of riding across Benone Beach and the iconic Downhill Beach.

Riding Abilities:
Our mixed ability rides cater to riders of all levels, from beginners to advanced. The ride is tailored to suit your ability, so everyone can enjoy the experience.

What to Expect:

• Horse Introduction & Assessment: Begin at Crindle Stables, where you’ll meet your horse and get comfortable practicing basic riding skills such as stopping, steering, trotting, or cantering (depending on your experience).
• Drive to the Beach: Riders will follow Crindle’s horse boxes to the beach by car (approx. 15-minute drive).
• Beach Ride: Ride along the scenic Benone Beach, continuing on to the famous Downhill Beach. The beach ride lasts approximately 1 hour, offering stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere.
• Car Drop-Off and Pickup: Leave your car at Benone Beach (starting point) and be picked up at Downhill Beach (finish point) at the end of the ride.

Please Note:

• Minimum Age: 12 years old

Whether you’re new to horse riding or looking to improve your skills, our 30-minute beginner riding lessons are designed to suit riders of all ages and abilities. Our lessons focus on the fundamentals, such as steering, stopping, and trotting, providing a safe, supportive environment where you can learn at your own pace.

Led by our friendly and experienced instructors, each session ensures a comfortable experience for first-timers or those wanting to build more confidence in the saddle. With a variety of engaging activities, you’ll develop key riding skills while enjoying a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Age is no barrier! Whether you’re a child, teenager, or adult, we welcome riders of all ages to experience the joy of horseback riding at Crindle Stables.

Meet our gentle ponies, friendly horses, fluffy sheep, and playful goats. Get up close with our animals as you pet and feed them using our special buckets (feel free to bring your own carrots and apples as special treats).

Time to become a real wee farmer! Roll up your sleeves and join in with fun farm tasks – help us keep the stables tidy, learn how to brush them down, or enjoy an exciting wheelbarrow ride to visit our ponies in their paddock.

The highlight of your visit will be quality time with our ponies. Try out grooming a pony, practice safely leading a pony, and enjoy a short, gentle pony walk around the farm (this is not a full riding session—just a brief walk around in a circle to feel what it’s like to be on a pony).

Pony Pals is perfect for building confidence around these wonderful animals.
